My gg-uncle, George Isaac Maledon, was the hangman, for Judge Isaac Parker. Uncle George didn't do all the hangings but a large number of them. He was also a soldier in the Civil War. He was a member of 1st Battery Arkansas Light Artillery.
Uncle George died in the Soldiers' Home in Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee on May 6, 1911. He is buried in the Mountain Home National cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee in Section E, Row 5, Grave 1.
